お店で店員さんに話しかけられたとき、買わないのに説明されると困りますよね。そんなときは、動詞に「だけ」をつけてこう言いましょう。
「みているだけです。」(I’m just looking.)
これで角を立てずに断ることができます。他にも「きくだけ（Just asking）」「いうだけ（Just saying）」など、日常会話で大活躍するフレーズです。

“Miteiru dake desu” (I’m just looking) is the perfect phrase for shopping when you don’t want assistance. Attaching “dake” to a verb highlights that your action is limited to just that and nothing more.

Why?

「〜だけ＋ません（否定形）」は、「〜だけはしない（それ以外はする）」という意味になってしまいます！つまり、ジョイは「リンゴ以外のものは全部食べるよ！」と言っていることになります。
リンゴOnlyの生活をしているなら、動詞は肯定形（Positive）にしましょう。
〇りんごだけ たべます (I eat only apples)

“Dake + negative verb” means “I don’t do ONLY that (I do other things)”. If you want to say “I only eat apples”, use a positive verb: “Ringo dake tabemasu” or use “Shika + negative” (Ringo shika tabemasen).
