Supporting / Adjectives
👀 Layer A: Visual Guide (直感理解)
📝 Quick Summary (まとめ)
「物(もの)が欲しい」ときに使います。「~たい」は動作(アクション)に使い、「ほしい」は物(アイテム)に使います。
Use “Hoshii” when you want a tangible OBJECT or thing. (Use “Tai” when you want to DO an action). “Hoshii” is an i-Adjective.
Structure: [Item] が ほしい です。
([Item] ga hoshii desu.)
🔍 Layer B: Deepening (深掘り)
💡 Raya’s Hack (攻略法)
「ほしい」と「たい」を混ぜないで!
物(車、お金、水)が欲しい → ほしい (Hoshii)
動作(行きたい、飲みたい) → たい (Tai)
「水を飲みたい」はOKだけど、「水を飲むがほしい」はダメだよ!
Don’t mix them up! Use “Hoshii” for Nouns (Things). Use “Tai” for Verbs (Actions). You cannot say “Nomu ga hoshii”.
🚧 Joy’s Mistake (よくある間違い)
Scene: Joy wants a new car.
Joy: 「新しい車 を ほしいです!」
(Atarashii kuruma o hoshii desu!)
❌ Wrong!
Why?
「ほしい」は形容詞です。「を (O)」ではなく「が (GA)」を使います。
正解は「新しい車 が ほしいです」です。
“Hoshii” is an adjective. You cannot use “O”. You must use “GA” to mark the object you desire. Correct: “Kuruma GA hoshii”.
