Verb Stem + に行く (Go to do)
Supporting / Purpose
👀 Layer A: Visual Guide
📝 Quick Summary (まとめ)
Use this pattern to say you are going somewhere TO DO a specific action. Take the “Masu-form”, cut off “masu”, and add “ni ikimasu”.
Structure: [Verb Stem]
([Verb Stem] ni ikimasu.)
🔍 Layer B: Deepening (深掘り)
💡 Raya’s Hack (攻略法)
Don’t say “Taberu no ni ikimasu”. That’s a common mistake. For movement purpose, keep it simple: “Stem + NI”. No dictionary form, no “NO”. Just “Tabe ni ikimasu”.
🚧 Joy’s Mistake (よくある間違い)
Scene: Joy goes to drink with friends.
Joy: 「
(Nomu ni ikimasu!)
❌ Wrong!
Why?
You cannot use the Dictionary Form “Nomu”. You must use the Stem “Nomi” (from Nomimasu). Correct: “Nomi ni ikimasu”.
