(Let’s / Invitation)

(Let’s / Invitation)

Core / Invitation & Suggestion

👀 Layer A: Visual Guide

📝 Quick Summary (まとめ)

Use “Mashou” to say “Let’s…”. It is an active invitation where the speaker takes the lead (“Come do this with me!”).

(Let’s go!).
(Let’s eat!).

🔗 Connected Grammar (関連文法):

(Shall we? / Offer)
(Masu form base)

🔍 Layer B: Deepening (深掘り)

⚖️ Comparison: 「ましょう」 vs 「ましょうか」

Form Meaning Vibe
(Mashou)
Let’s go! Active / Leading
(Mashou ka)
Shall we go?
Shall I help?
Passive / Supporting

“Mashou” pushes the action forward (Leadership). “Mashou ka” asks for the other person’s opinion or offers help (Care/Support).

💡 Raya’s Hack (攻略法)

Add “Issho ni” (Together) at the beginning. It makes your invitation sound more natural and friendly.

🚧 Joy’s Mistake (よくある間違い)

Scene: Joy invites his boss.

Joy: 「
(Shacho, issho ni nomimashou!)

⚠️ A bit too direct for Boss?

Why?

(Won’t you…?)」
(More polite invitation)

“Mashou” can sound a bit pushy or too equal with a superior. To invite a boss safely, use “Masen ka?” (Won’t you…?). It gives them space to say no.
