(Continuous Action / State)
Supporting / Te-form
👀 Layer A: Visual Guide
📝 Quick Summary (まとめ)
This form expresses two things: 1) Actions happening RIGHT NOW (Present Continuous), and 2) A continuing state (like being married or living somewhere).
Structure: [Verb Te-form] + います (imasu).
🔍 Layer B: Deepening (深掘り)
💡 Raya’s Hack (攻略法)
It’s not just for action! It’s for STATUS too. “Married” (Kekkon shite imasu) and “Living in” (Sunde imasu) describe your current status, so they also use the Te-imasu form.
🚧 Joy’s Mistake (よくある間違い)
Scene: Joy wants to say he is eating now.
Joy: 「
(Ima taberu imasu!)
❌ Wrong!
Why?
You cannot attach “imasu” to the Dictionary Form. You must use the Te-form connector. Correct: “Tabe-te imasu”.
