ใ„-Adjectives (Present & Negative)

Supporting / Adjectives

๐Ÿ‘€ Layer A: Visual Guide (็›ดๆ„Ÿ็†่งฃ)

i-Adjectives always end in the Hiragana “i”. To make them negative, you must DROP the “i” and add “kunai”.

Positive: ใŠใ„ใ—ใ„ ใงใ™ (Oishii desu)
Negative: ใŠใ„ใ—ใใชใ„ ใงใ™ (Oishi-kunai desu)

๐Ÿ”— Connected Grammar (้–ข้€ฃๆ–‡ๆณ•):

  • N5-G-001: AใฏBใงใ™ (Basic Sentence)
  • N5-G-021: ใช-Adjectives (Comparison)

๐Ÿ” Layer B: Deepening (ๆทฑๆŽ˜ใ‚Š)

Think of the final “i” as a lizard’s tail. For negative sentences, cut off the “i” with scissors and paste “kunai” instead! Never say “Oishii janai”.

๐Ÿšง Joy’s Mistake (ใ‚ˆใใ‚ใ‚‹้–“้•ใ„)

Scene: Joy says the sushi is not expensive.

Joy: ใ€Œใ“ใฎๅฏฟๅธใฏ ้ซ˜ใ„ ใงใฏใ‚ใ‚Šใพใ›ใ‚“ใ€‚ใ€
(Kono sushi wa takai dewa arimasen.)

โŒ Wrong!

Why?

ใ€Œใงใฏใ‚ใ‚Šใพใ›ใ‚“ใ€ใฏๅ่ฉž(ใ‚ใ„ใ—)ใซไฝฟใ„ใพใ™ใ€‚ใ„ๅฝขๅฎน่ฉžใซใฏไฝฟใˆใพใ›ใ‚“๏ผ
ๆญฃ่งฃใฏใ€Œ้ซ˜ใใชใ„ ใงใ™ใ€ใงใ™ใ€‚

“Dewa arimasen” is for Nouns. You cannot use it for i-adjectives. You must use the “kunai” form. Correct: “Taka-kunai desu”.
