(Location)
Core / Sentence Pattern
👀 Layer A: Visual Guide
📝 Quick Summary (まとめ)
Use this pattern to describe the specific location of an item or person. “WA” marks the item, and “NI” marks the location.
Structure: [Item] は [Place] に [Arimasu / Imasu].
(Item is AT Place.)
🔍 Layer B: Deepening (深掘り)
💡 Raya’s Hack (攻略法)
(Where) → NI (に)
(The room is inside the cat)」になって変だよ!
Order matters! First, say WHAT you are talking about (WA). Then say WHERE it is (NI). Don’t swap them, or the meaning becomes weird!
🚧 Joy’s Mistake (よくある間違い)
Scene: Joy wants to say “Ken is at school”.
Joy: 「
(Gakkou wa Ken-san ni imasu.)
❌ Wrong!
Why?
This sentence says “The school is inside Ken”! The Topic (Ken) must come first with WA. The Location (School) comes second with NI.
