「一緒に～しよう」と誘(さそ)ったり、提案(ていあん)したりするときに使います。英語の “Let’s” に近いです。
Use this pattern to make a suggestion or invitation (“Let’s do…”). It replaces “masu” with “mashou”.
Structure: [Verb Stem] + ましょう (mashou).

「ましょう」は積極的(せっきょくてき)！
「行きましょう！」は「行こうよ！」という明るい提案です。
もし、相手が「いいよ」と言うか自信がないときは、「～ませんか（行きませんか？）」を使ったほうが丁寧(ていねい)だよ。
“Mashou” is positive and active. Use it when you think the answer will be “Yes”. If you are unsure or want to be polite, use “Masenka” (Won’t you?) instead.
🚧 Joy’s Mistake (よくある間違い)
Scene: Joy invites Ken to eat.
Joy: 「食べる ましょう！」
(Taberu mashou!)
❌ Wrong!
Why?
辞書形(じしょけい)「食べる」に「ましょう」はつきません。「ます形」の「ます」を取ってつけます。
正解は「食べましょう」です。
You cannot attach “mashou” to the Dictionary Form. Remove “masu” from “Tabemasu” and add “mashou”. Correct: “Tabemashou”.
