📝 Activity of the Day (AOTD)
The Activity of the Day is a simple daily task designed to keep beginners and upper beginners consistent. Each task is action-based such as reading aloud, writing, or speaking, so you get real practice every day. By doing a little at a time, you will make Japanese part of your routine. It is not overwhelming, just steady steps that lead to big progress.
For Beginners
- Kana Practice (Hiragana and Katakana), 2 weeks
Write and read hiragana and katakana every day. Copy characters, read short kana-only words, and try writing them from memory until you can use them without romaji. - Reading Practice, 1 month
Read short and simple texts aloud every day. Focus on recognizing kana quickly and building smooth, accurate reading without stopping to analyze grammar. - Vocabulary Practice, 1 month
Take new words and use them in short sentences. Write them in kana and say them out loud. The goal is to recall and use the words actively, not just memorize them. - Grammar Practice, 1 month
Make your own simple sentences using beginner grammar points. Write them down and read them aloud so you practice forming sentences correctly. - Speaking Practice, 1 month
Practice saying basic introductions, short answers, and everyday phrases. Repeat them daily, record yourself, or speak in front of a mirror to build confidence and fluency.
For Upper Beginners

Read aloud short and simplified news articles. Pick out keywords and summarize the main idea in your own words. - Conversation Practice
Practice roleplay dialogues for everyday situations like shopping, traveling, or meeting new people. Say them out loud or practice with a partner or coach. - Manga Reading
