Begin Your Japanese Journey with Our Beginner Activity of the Day (AOTD)!
Are you a complete beginner looking to learn Japanese but not sure where to start? Our Beginner Activity of the Day (AOTD) program is designed with zero beginners in mind, offering a structured, supportive way to build a foundation in Japanese over just two months. By the end of it, you’ll feel more independent, motivated, and ready to take on more advanced levels of Japanese!
What’s So Special About the Beginner AOTD?
Learning a new language can be overwhelming—especially when it’s as unique as Japanese. Many beginners lose momentum because they feel left behind by others, but our Beginner AOTD is created to change that. Our approach is systematic and encouraging, helping you build the essential skills to stay motivated and confident in your progress.
Here’s what you can look forward to in our AOTD program:
1. Hiragana & Katakana Mastery: Build a Strong Foundation
In the first two weeks, you’ll dive into learning Hiragana and Katakana, the essential characters of Japanese writing. We guide you to memorize these in a practical, enjoyable way so that you can quickly recognize Japanese words without relying on romaji (English letters). By focusing on these characters early, you’ll feel more confident and independent when it’s time to read Japanese.
2. Grammar Basics: Form Simple Sentences
Grammar can seem like the tough part of Japanese, but it’s also the key to building meaningful sentences. We introduce 10 foundational grammar points during your AOTD experience to get you comfortable with creating basic sentences, so you can start expressing yourself as you learn.
3. Conversation Skills (Speaking & Listening): Practical, Engaging Practice
There’s nothing more motivating than being able to have simple conversations in Japanese—even if you’re just starting out! In our conversation-focused AOTDs, you’ll practice speaking and listening, gaining confidence and experiencing the joy of using Japanese in real conversations. Just imagine the thrill of being able to speak Japanese within your first week!
4. Reading Practice: Bringing Your Skills to Life
Once you’ve mastered Hiragana and Katakana, you’ll start reading Japanese words, sentences, and even short stories. This skill will be a natural next step as you progress, allowing you to reinforce what you’ve learned and see the language in action.
Easy-to-Follow Schedule to Keep You on Track
Our AOTD sessions follow a set schedule, so you’ll always know when and where to join. We’ve designed a routine that keeps you progressing steadily, letting you focus on learning without having to worry about planning the timing. Here’s a look at our AOTD lineup:
Additionally, we offer AOTDs for upper beginners, like N5 Kanji practice on Mondays and intermediate speaking sessions on Tuesdays.
