Is learning Japanese easy?

How much time does it take to be able to speak simple Japanese?

Understanding sentences and commonly used expressions related to the most familiar matters. Communication is possible when exchanging straightforward and direct information on familiar everyday topics.

This is the A2 level in the CEFR, an international index that measures foreign language proficiency and operational ability. At this level, you can say that you can communicate in basic Japanese.

Difficulty of learning Japanese and guidelines for reaching CEFR A2 level
Japanese is known as a language with a high level of difficulty. Particularly, elements like kanji, grammar, and honorifics are considered challenging for foreigners.

The CEFR A2 level is where you can understand common expressions in everyday situations and make simple exchanges. As a guideline, 400 to 600 hours of study are required. However, this is just a guideline and can vary greatly depending on individual study methods and environments.

Here are some tips for efficiently advancing your Japanese studies:

1. Find a learning method that suits you

There are various study methods such as self-study, online lessons, and Japanese language schools. It is important to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each and find a method that suits you.

2. Clarify your goals

Setting specific goals makes it easier to maintain motivation. For example, “I want to be able to have daily conversations in a year,” or “I want to be able to use Japanese for business in two years.” Such specific goals could help.

3. Study a little every day

It is important to continue studying a little every day. Even if it is just for a short time, try to be exposed to Japanese every day.

4. Create opportunities for output

It is important to create opportunities for output as well as input. By creating opportunities to speak and write in Japanese, you can solidify what you have learned.

5. Enjoy learning Japanese

Enjoying learning Japanese is the shortcut to improvement. Have fun while studying, such as enjoying your favorite music, movies, dramas, etc. in Japanese.

Learning Japanese takes time, but if you put in the effort, you will definitely improve. Don’t rush, and continue studying at your own pace.

JPLT, an online Japanese language school, places particular emphasis on acquiring CEFR A2 level Japanese communication skills early and at a low cost.
They teach the grammar and vocabulary necessary to have simple Japanese conversations, but above all, they also offer plans that allow you to take unlimited classes of all types to improve your conversation skills in the short term.

This is an online Japanese language school where you can learn and improve comfortably and enjoyably.
