COURSE OVERVIEW
At Japanese Language Training School (JPLT), even beginners can develop practical communication Japanese skills (speaking and listening) through real-life scenarios – may it be situations related to food, shopping, speaking on the phone, inviting people, and more!
Our JAPANESE CONVERSATION FOR STARTERS pushes students to learn Japanese in an innovative and fun way far from the traditional and boring textbook-based and grammar-based learning.
Here you can learn useful languages/ expressions that you can use in any scenario and practice it through UNLIMITED ACTIVITIES (AOTDs) such as role-plays, games, group works, and more!
What you will learn:
- use and understand familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases
- introduce oneself and ask and answer questions about personal details
- interact with other people in a simple way with some aid.

- Lesson 1 - 2: Starting to Speak JapaneseIn this lesson, you will learn to exchange greetings and other basic phrases. You will be able to ask and answer the question, "Can you speak Japanese?" Additionally, you will learn how to ask for the translation of something in Japanese.0
- Lesson 3 - 4: About MyselfIn this lesson, students will learn how to introduce themselves by stating their name and location. They will practice asking others for their name and location in return. The lesson will then cover how to talk about family, encouraging students to share information about their own families and ask about others'. Finally, students will engage in conversations about age, learning to ask and answer questions related to this topic.0
- Lesson 5 - 6: My Favorite FoodsIn this lesson, students will discuss the foods they like and dislike, sharing their preferences with others. They will also talk about the foods they typically eat for each meal, comparing their daily diets. Finally, students will learn how to order food in a restaurant, practicing key phrases and vocabulary needed for dining out.0
- Lesson 7 - 8: Homes and WorkplacesIn this lesson, students will discuss the type of house they live in, describing its features and characteristics. They will practice asking questions about the different rooms inside a house, learning to identify and describe them. Additionally, students will learn how to ask where someone or something is located.0
- Lesson 9 - 10: Daily LifeIn this lesson, students will learn how to discuss their daily routines and schedules, sharing details about their typical day and asking others about theirs. Additionally, the lesson will focus on giving and understanding simple instructions and directions at work, enabling students to effectively communicate basic tasks and follow workplace guidelines.0
- Lesson 11 - 12: What I like to doIn this lesson, students will practice sharing information about their hobbies and favorite activities to do during their free time. They will also learn how to invite someone to an event and how to respond when they are invited.0
- Lesson 13 - 14: Walking around TownIn this lesson, students will learn how to commute effectively, including understanding public transportation and navigating routes in Japanese. They will practice asking for directions and inquiring about different places around the city. Additionally, students will learn how to give their impressions about various locations, discussing what they like or dislike about them.0
- Lesson 15 - 16: At StoresIn this lesson, students will learn how to shop, focusing on common phrases and vocabulary used in a shopping context. They will practice asking about prices to understand and inquire about the cost of items. Additionally, the lesson will include exercises on talking about numbers, enabling students to confidently discuss and understand numerical information in various shopping scenarios.0
- Lesson 17 - 18: HolidaysIn this lesson, students will discuss their past experiences, sharing memorable events and achievements. They will also talk about their future aspirations, expressing what they hope to do and accomplish in the coming years.0
